Day # 1, Where to begin....

The title says it all... When someone decides to do something, whether its losing weight or starting a blog, you always have to have a beginning; and most of the time, you have no idea where to start. So lets just start by saying "What am I going to do?"
Last night I sat and watched "The Biggest Loser" premier like I am sure millions of people did, and like half of those millions of people I sat and wished I could be there and have the chance that those lucky people did..... HA, I have that chance I just choose not to. I always make up excuses to why I don't want to exercise that day, or I think to myself.."I can eat that piece of pizza and make up for it tomorrow". I can tell you now it AIN'T going to happen...
This past year I have gained back almost 80lbs of weight that I worked really hard to lose. In October of 2008, my brother in law was diagnosed with cancer, he fought for over a year to win this battle and our entire family fought along beside him as much as we could. Traveling back and forth to Nashville, hospital trips every day here, running to therapy sessions and basically spending time with him. During this time frame, I also lost my mother to a stroke. She went into the hospital after Easter and was doing ok, then at 4am the hospital called and said she was moved to the ICU, within the 20 minutes it took me to jump out of bed and race to the hospital she died. Then in October, my brother in law passed away quietly at is home surrounded by his loving wife and 2 daughters, who had supported and loved him so much. Granted, I have been through allot this year and losing these 2 people, who were very important to me and whom I loved very much, was excruciatingly hard. I used this as an excuse to not care whether I exercised or what I ate.
So now I find my first step... this is where I begin. I joined the pound for pound at ww.biggestloser.com and vowed to lose 50lbs. I would have put more down but 50lbs was the highest they would allow.
So here I am, posting my weight, photo and my goal. I will have mini goals along the way. I'm sure I will screw up once or twice (I wouldn't be human if I didn't) but I am going to try my hardest to be healthier and more fit by 2011.
